There‘s obviously some resemblance between the Heritage Sideboard and ginger jars from China or hand-painted tiles from Portugal. Similar to these, the sideboard from Boca do Lobo features a mesmerizing design with several layers, each telling a different story and together creating a wonderful big picture.
Modern wicker was initially developed as a basket weaving technique. In time, it evolved into furniture. By the 17th century, in Northern Europe, wicker looked a lot like it does today. The trend soon spread all over the world and became as popular and as common as it is today. Then, in the mid 19th century it reached the United States where it was quickly industrialized and mass-produced.

For example, when trying to picture a masculine interior decor a lot of people immediately go to images of a dark, sterile space ruled by chaos or of a space that‘s austere and has an unrealistic futuristic look. Such spaces definitely exist but they don’t actually define the majority.
